Guild Rules and Policies

Faded Heroes is a guild that takes loyalty and respect seriously. We do our best to ensure fairness and equality within our guild and we expect that sort of behaviour from our guildies. These rules and policies are effective as of August 26, 2019. The officers reserve the right to edit the policies as situations not already covered by these policies present themselves.

1) No ninja-looting. Don't be a jerk. Decide on loot rules before you start an instance. The guild standard loot rules are as follows and will be in effect for all dungeon runs within the guild unless otherwise stated at the start of the run.

Pass on all epics that drop in a dungeon and have a discussion about who it would best benefit

Need on any mount (such as Baron Rivendare's mount, Raptor Mount, Tiger Mount, etc) if you want it.

Need on any blue that: a) is a main-spec upgrade for you, b) that you will equip immediately

Greed on any blue that: a) is an off-spec upgrade for you, or b) is a main-spec sidegrade for you

Pass on any blue that you will not personally equip.

Greed all greens.

Need any pattern that you will personally use on the character you're on at the time.

Greed any non-Bind on Pickup pattern that you will personally use on another character of yours.

Pass on any pattern that you will not personally use. /roll afterwards for other uses.

2) Friends. You're welcome to ask if your friends can join the guild! Your friends must follow these rules and policies. Please note that if you have invited a friend to the guild, if you leave the guild for any reason, your friend will be asked to leave as well unless they have another sponsor in the guild. (AKA: The Bramal Rule)

3) Be respectful of others. In the game, you represent Faded Heroes. With the Classic server environment, this means that our reputation matters and we want people to know we're good players and good people. Be polite and respectful as much as you can. Let others know that to be a member of Faded Heroes is to be a good person. Be proud of being in your guild and be proud of what the guild is like. In short, don't be a jerk. Not in groups, not while questing, not in public channels.

This includes guild chat. While moderate use of profanity is fine, there should be no comments or quips or jokes that target a minority group. Examples of unacceptable behaviour include (but are not limited to): racist language, homophobic language, transphobic language, misogynistic language, use of stereotypes or insults used against a social or religious minority and casual use of the word "rape".

Additionally, no one in the guild should be made to feel uncomfortable by another guild member, particularly in the case of someone being "creepy" towards another guild member. Do not harass your fellow guildies. If someone asks you to stop whispering them, respect their wishes.

Finally, if an officer tells you to stop your current behaviour, then stop it. Period.

Repercussions: The officers will use their discretion as to what the repercussions are for breaking these rules. In general, a three-strikes-and-you're-out policy will apply. In more egregious cases, we're talking an immediate /gkick. Again, don't be a jerk.

Hi. I'm Kurn and I'm the guild leader of Faded Heroes. We're an Alliance guild on the Pagle Westfall Classic server (PVE/Eastern).

History

Most of us originally met each other while playing World of Warcraft on the Eldre'Thalas (US) server on the Alliance side. Many of us were part of a guild named Fated Heroes -- which is why you see that logo in the header. We thought Faded Heroes accurately represented us, nearly 15 years after first encountering one another. We're all older and maybe even a bit wiser!

Fated Heroes was disbanded back before Burning Crusade came out. On June 1, 2007, a group of us got together and formed the guild Apotheosis, which still exists on retail Eldre'Thalas. We worked our way through Karazhan, Gruul, Magtheridon, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, Mount Hyjal and finally Black Temple, downing Illidan. Things broke down in early Wrath, but we reconvened in Cataclysm and went 7/13 25-man heroic in Tier 11, 6/7 25-man heroic in Tier 12 (Firelands) and 8/8 25-man heroic in Tier 13 (Dragon Soul).

Classic Goals

Despite some of its nuances and annoyances, by and large, we loved Classic. The world was huge and unknown, gold was scarce, PVP titles were impressive and if you could do a 45-minute Baron run, well, by golly, you were amazing.

We're out to enjoy ourselves. We want to have fun. With so many more years of WoW under our belts, we feel as though we're probably going to be more competent overall, and many of us weren't awful to start with! :) So our ultimate goal is to have fun together. That said, we do have long-term raiding aspirations. At the very least, we'd like to hit up ZG (when it comes out) and Onyxia and Molten Core. For now, that means a ton of levelling and a lot of dungeon runs and attunements and long quest chains! (Jailbreak might still give me nightmares. Just saying.)

Through it all, we want to laugh and joke and still manage to get through Scholomance under three hours. We want to make more amazing memories together, whether it's like when Daey got the nickname Football (after his gnomish self got punted while pulling The Beast in UBRS), or doing the Baron run in 45 minutes and the quest bugging, or having to run Jailbreak for Majik twice because he died, or finally downing Venoxis because we finally didn't stand in the poison.

These memories endure to this day because of the people we made them with. We want to make more. And if we happen to pick up phat lootz and SWEET EPIX at the same time as we laugh ourselves silly, well, that would be just fine.

Joining Faded Heroes

At this time, recruitment is closed as we level together and have fun. When we're ready, we'll open up recruitment. Thanks for your interest! (That said, if we were ever guilded together, hit me up on Twitter and we'll chat.)

As of August 26, 2019, your officers are:

Guild Leader: Kurnmogh. Kurn's claims to fame are getting her Rhok'delar back in Vanilla on her hunter and clearing 8/8 Heroic Dragon Soul on 25-man on her holy paladin, along with the meta mounts from ICC Heroic 25-man, Firelands Heroic 25-man and, of course, Dragon Soul Heroic 25-man. And being incredibly long-winded.

Officer: Aimers. You know him as Fog, Kurn's brother. He began life as a druid in Vanilla, turned rogue in Burning Crusade, rolled a hunter in Wrath, became a tankadin for Cataclysm and has endeavoured to bankrupt Kurn throughout it all. He'll be warrior tanking in Classic and you'll be able to identify him by his affinity for /pointing and /guffawing at people.
